San Francisco, CA — August 23, 2008 — The 23rd Annual Miss Asian America Pageant took place in grandeur at the Palace of Fine Arts, featuring 21 remarkable delegates. Among them, Louisa Liu, a 21-year-old UC Berkeley psychology student, stood out as Miss Asian America and Miss Talent, showcasing exceptional grace and cultural pride.

Mary Saleh secured the titles of Miss Asian First Princess and Miss Asian California, while Nina Kasuga earned the distinction of Miss Asian Second Princess. Stephanie Karlik was recognized as Miss Asian Third Princess. Additionally, Lisa Ma was crowned Miss Asian San Francisco, Chelsea Kuo was honored with the title of Miss Congeniality, and Shan Yu was celebrated for her scholastic achievements. Stephanie Wong was bestowed with the title of Miss Community Service, and Veronica Sartori was recognized as Miss Photogenic.

The pageant contestants adorned themselves in traditional attire from their respective ethnic backgrounds, illuminating the stage with the rich tapestry of Asian cultures.
