San Francisco, CA — August 11, 2007 — The 22nd Annual Miss Asian America Pageant at the Palace of Fine Arts showcased 20 exceptional delegates. Louise Wu, a 24-year-old from Fremont, CA, emerged as Miss Asian America, embodying grace, intellect, and cultural pride.
Tiffani Mah secured the titles of Miss Asian First Princess and Miss Asian California, while Ayushka Sing Gharib earned the distinction of Miss Asian Second Princess. Amy Chu was recognized as Miss Asian Third Princess and Miss Asian San Francisco. Other honorees included Amy Ng (Miss Photogenic), Seayoon Jeong (Miss Popularity), and Ilyssa Lu (Miss Scholastic Achievement), among others.
The pageant contestants adorned themselves in the traditional attire of their respective ethnic heritages, showcasing the rich tapestry of Asian cultures. Representing diverse Asian American heritages, these accomplished young women collectively illuminated the stage with their unique strengths, reflecting the unity found within diversity. President and pageant founder Rose Chung expressed, “I hope this event would serve not only as a crucial platform to amplify the voices of the Asian American community nationwide, but also connect Asian America with Asia and the world.”
Louise Wu has gone on to make significant contributions in the entertainment industry. Wu has played an instrumental role in developing and producing unscripted content and documentaries for primetime broadcast, streamers, and cable outlets, serving as the Vice President of Unscripted & Documentaries at Warner Horizon Television Inc.. Her extensive experience includes a noteworthy tenure at ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show,’ where she honed her skills in creative development.
